MRI after effects.....

Aug 16, 2008 10:36AM - 1 comments

I got to the MRI appointment Thursday to find the person whos place I had taken as a cancellation had turned up! luckily they turned him away & I was able to have my apt.  I had a line in each arm, one for the dye & one for the drug to induce tachycardia.
The actual scan was fine but, the tachycardia was horrid, worse than normal as I was in a confined space & couldn't move.  They said they got some good pictures so hopefully they will find what they are looking for.  It's a waiting game (again!)
Since then I have had 4 substantial runs of VT & constant flutters & thumps, I feel completely shattered, I'm so worn out I don't know what to do with my self.
They said that the drug would be out of my system in just a few seconds after they stopped administering it, so why on earth have I been affected so badly??

Stress and tension-more then likely you have been worried about your heart and the MRI.Without knowing it you tense all your muscles-you might think you are calm, but you are not-and then when the tension leaves your body you get shaky etc.I suffer from tachycardia myself and lots of pvc's and pac's-not all the time, thank God,but more when I have been worried and then try to relax.
Hope you feel better soon.
