Aug 14, 2008 02:20PM - 4 comments

ok, so i am 14 weeks today and THANK THE GOOD LORD, i am so blessed and SO beyond happy!! im truly amazed!!!! BUT i would like to know, WHEN will this morning sickness go away? i dont want to sit here and complain because its a GREAT sign, im pregnant to begin with but i can barely keep water down anymore....and it seems to be getting worse as time is going on, not better. YET EVERYONE keeps telling me its going to get better anyday!! i want the TRUTH!!! i keep getting this candy coated story and i dont like it!! and of course there really isnt no exact answer or time ill feel better but geeze, 'the night you wake up into your second trimester, youll be amazed at how much better you feel' is a load!! anyway, needed to vent, *glad your a healthy baby* but mommy is a lil over it already!! only what, 26 weeks left, please be easier!!

this is basically for those going through the same thing of this 'wonderful' advise everyone loves to give but no one wants to hear, since the truth is always best....vent it out ladies.....

I completely understand! We are the same amount of weeks right now, and I have been going through the same thing, however, I do get a day break every now and then. The morning is the worst for me, right after I brush my teeth. I too also have people telling me that the second trimester it stops, but I am now in the second trimester and its still hanging around. The worst is the morning because theres nothing in your system and its nothing but dry heaving which leaves you with a sore rib cage from trying to vomit when theres nothing in your belly.
However, I have had a couple women here that I work with tell me that they were like this their ENTIRE pregnancy. I guess there are women who are sick through the entire thing and it never goes away.
I truly hope that we are not two of those women who are going to have to go through this for the entire pregnancy, but, it is in fact possibly.
I hope you start feeling better soon!

I am too in the same boat - when will it stop???? I have been told that someone can experience it their whole pregnancy, yet then someone never experience it!  Anyways, people were always telling me after the first trimester, but I am just out of the first trimester and I still feel nauseau constantly (though I am able to eat a little more than before).  My boss said that everyone lies when they tell you that you will feel better after the first trimester - she said its more like after the fourth month (but Im sure that's based on her experience).  Like you said it is a nice daily reminder, but its like ok, I've seen the baby twice now and everything looks good - so the m/s can go away now :)

i know what you mean about the nothing in your system, when thats the case, its so hard to stop, and its nothing, it was foam yesterday. ?? i was telling my husband, its not like a sick throw up or drunk throw up, once you start, you cant stop. usually sick/ drunk, once its all gone, youre done. this even if there isnt anything there, you just keep going.....it really *****!!! id be fine with the as soon as my stomach is empty im done throwing up. anyway, thanks for venting with me!! i just want people to understand that were super happy and excited but, im sure there are ton of us out there, enough is enough. cant even walk through the kitchen at home when DH is cooking.

thanks ladies *hugs*

As I have heard it, between 14 and 16 weeks, the baby's genitals are forming, as we know and there is a rush of hormones throughout the mother's body.  I too, was one of those mother's that had the nausea and vomiting long into my pregnancy.  Around the 5 th month it finally resolved.  Then I really started packing on the pounds.  I am ashamed to say that I actually put on over 50 pounds, during the last four months of my pregnancy.  I gave birth to a baby that was almost 9 pounds.

I went from 135 pounds, to 191 on the day of delivery.  Please ladies do not follow my lead.  Putting on that much weight after all those months of being sick, was NOT a good thing to do.  All I could do is remind myself, that my morning, evening and night sickness was a sign of a very healthy pregnancy.  That's the only way I got through it without losing my mind.

When I carried my daughter, the nauses and vomiting didn't appear until the 9th month.  But two healthy pregnancies, so I am grateful.  One sick mommy...but it was SO worth every minute, when I held my babies in my arms.  Hopefully this will pass for you and you will get to enjoy the second trimester of your pregnancies.  I wish you God speed.

Heather
