CYBER VACATIONS

Aug 07, 2008 09:49AM - 8 comments

We have had cyber parties together, so I don't see why we couldn't have cyber vacations together.  I think each one of us should put together links to websites that would give us all a tour of each others cities. Even if I don't live in the most exciting city in the world I think I could come up with something pretty cool.  It could be as detailed as where we will all go for lunch and what we would have to local art, history, scenic wonders etc. What would you do if you had friends in town for 2 days.  Where would you take them?  What would you want them to know aobut your city?  I know some people like Chris don't live in a town much less a city, but for really remote people, maybe they could pick a larger town in their state or a country or city they might want to go to.  I think having video tours of museums, zoos. local entertainment (bands, concerts, or plays in the park are sometimes online) and scenic wonders would be a great way to make us all feel we are in your home town.  Put up sites to the places we'll go for meals so everyone can see the menu.  I would like to see a cyber vacation hosted every week.  What do you all think and how many volunteers can I get?  Okay, maybe once a month.
I think it could be a really fun "getaway" for us all and about the only way we are all ever going to go on vacation together.  So?

This is a great idea.  I love my city.  Give a reminder, okay?  I am more and more forgetful, but would love to try to do this.  Marie

Not as good with the comp as some of you are, but I would give it a go.

I don't know how I missed this but I think it is a great idea. But like you said, I barely live in a town much less a city. But we could always go to the park and see the white squirrels!
As I am in the middle of nowhere, we would have to drive a bit to find a bigger city that has anything to really do. But I am sure that I could find something. Just let me know when you want to do this and I will get on it.

OOOOh.. I Love those white squirrels.. We have them in Hendersonville NC now.. They used to only be in Brevard, but have migrated east ...They are just the sweetest looking things !!! Well, you could always sit here and watch the river go by I guess.... (which now by the way is only 3' from flood stage !!! )

Anyhow.. sounds fun...

I haven't done mine because there has just been to much on my plate.  Being an English major I would like to do mine a little differently. I have been so incredibly sad and miserable lately that my creative  juices just aren't cooperating.  We will be driving down to Cory's mom's today and maybe I can work on it than.  I am sorry, I should have done mine first before i opened my big mouth, got everyone excited and than didn't follow through.
