See if you can tell where it hurts during sex.

If it is the skin on the outside of your vagina, down by your bottom, chances are that your vaginal opening is smaller than normal. A doctor can help you fix that.

If it hurts inside your vagina during sex, what kind of hurt is it? A burning feeling can mean that you have little cuts or tears inside or that something is irritating your vaginal walls. This could be caused by lubricants, soaps, or lotions on your partner's skin, or if he is just simply too big to fit inside you, or you may be allergic to his semen.

If it's a dull pain or an ache way up inside, it could be that he is hitting your cervix.

My advise to everyone, is to use plenty of water-based lubricant, pay attention to your body, and if it is truly bothersome, go see the doctor.

My daughter went through painful intercourse for years. She visited many doctors and even ended up having a total historectomy at the age of 30. She started having the problem after she had her daughter, which is her only child. Recently, through having a MRI, they finally found the problem. Her pelvic bones did not go back in place after birthing her daughter. Now she has exercises that she does that helps her. I was never aware the pelvic bones moved when the baby is born. It took many years and several surgerys before the problem was found. I don't know if that is a 1 out of a100 situation, but I am 59 and had never heard of that before.

Yes, your pelvic bones do move during pregnancy, but it is pretty rare to have that cause any problems after the birth of your child. There are ligaments between the bones that do the stretching. Did she tear the ligaments? That could be quite painful, not just during sex, but walking, and any shift of the pelvis. If you have any more details, or if you can get your daughter to post a comment, I am very interested in this.
