Surgical Menopause

In discussions with my gyn/onc yesterday when discussing this she stated that I'd most likely experience severe menopause symptoms and would require HRT (which brings on it's host of issues) and linked this to my history of bad menstration, cramping, hot flashes, nausea, etc.

I've never heard of this correlation.  Anyone heard of this or know anything to this effect that I'm not aware of?
I didn't think severity of menopause could be linked to menstration experience ... but hey what do I know?
