My SIL delivered a beautiful baby girl, Kaitlyn Jade, Monday (June 23). She was 4 weeks early and weighed in at 5.3lbs and was 18 inches long. She broke her water at 3:30 Monday morning and Kaitlyn was born at 10:02 a.m. My SIL had been on bedrest since she was 25 weeks pregnant due to early contractions and dialation. She was taken off of bedrest this past Thursday and here came Kaitlyn Monday morning. I hope my first pregnancy goes that fast.
I have mixed emotions. I am SO happy that Kaitlyn is here and doing well since she was early and so tiny. But, at the same time, it makes me sad to think that I'm not pregnant anymore. We were so happy because originally there were a little less than 3 months between our due dates and we thought that was neatest thing because our kids were going to be so close in age and grow up together. But, at least we got good news from the RE and we are TTC again.
Kaitlyn has severe jaundice and can't keep her body temp up to how they want it since she's so small, but as of today, she's doing better and may get to go home Friday. Fingers crossed!!!
This is my first time to be an Aunt and I'm thrilled! This is also the only baby in our family right now, so she will be spoiled!!!
