July fourth blues: coping okay

This is the first year I will miss our annual 4th of July celebration.  Surgery is too recent, the area is hilly and everyone is afraid I may fall or not be able to sit comfortably.  This means they will all be there while I will be here at home alone.  Pain is manageable, most of the time I don't need the meds but ocassionally I need onne in order to get the pain down enough to sleep.

Recovering from extensive spinal surgery

Lonely, been isolated at home mostly for past several weeks.  I was really down in the dumps until a coworker  George stopped by to drop off a card and took me walking with my walker.  I was even able to walk most of the way back with limited support.  This boosted my spirit somewhat although I feel like the walls are closing in on me and the world is going on (especially my husband) like I am un necessary and old news.
