pain lower left back

I was diagnosed with Lupus in 1994 with no major organ involvement. In Jan 2008, my kidneys were failing. They are getting closer to normal now, but I have a constant dull pain in my lower left back/side that radiates down my hip and leg. Doesn't matter how I'm sitting or laying, it's still the same dull pain. Bending over seems to aggravate it worse, to where I have to stand upright after a while to catch my breath. I was wondering if I have something the matter with that kidney? I noticed in when they did an ultrasound of my kidneys in Jan, that when she put the probe on that side it hurt like crazy. But all of my labs have been improving? Incidentally, that is the same kidney that I had biopsied in Jan. I remember that bothering me for about a week after I left the hospital, but this isn't quite as sharp of a pain. If anyone has any ideas, I would be eternally grateful. I don't see my kidney dr until next month and my rhuematologist until Dec. Not sure what to do about it until then? It seems to be bothering me a lot more lately, that's why I haven't mentioned it to my docs. Thanks!
