This forum is limited to prevention of HIV and to safe sex in general. If you believe you might have been exposed to HIV and want help to judge your risk, would like advice about HIV testing, or have questions about the effectiveness of condoms or the risks associated with specific sexual practices, this is the site for you.

IMPORTANT

No questions will be accepted on the treatment of HIV/AIDS or its complications, viral load, and similar topics. If you have questions about a specific STD other than HIV/AIDS, please visit the STD Forum. Questions that do not pertain to the above topics will be removed from the forum.

If you have not done so, please review other threads in our archives for questions similar to yours and Dr. Handsfield's replies. Questions that duplicate other frequent ones, for which abundant replies exist, and that have little educational value for other forum users, will be DELETED WITHOUT RESPONSE. YOUR PAYMENT WILL NOT BE REFUNDED. The most common examples of such questions are those about low risk exposures to HIV, such as oral sex, condom- protected intercourse hand-to-genital exposure, and nonsexual contact with possibly infected blood or body fluids as well as symptoms of early HIV infection.

i had gone to a very high risk chinese prostitute , i rubbed my penis agianst her ***(while she was lying down on bed ), iam sure there was no insertion of any kind ( i feel my penis did not go deep under her *** crack , it was a sort of outer rubbing only , it was just a normal rubb , i did not ejactulated , she was naked and i was wearing a  condom , can i get hiv like this .

actually i forget whether i was wearing condom or not , please estimate my risk

You do not get to choose who will answer your question.  Dr. Handsfield and I share the forum.  You got me.  FYI, the reason we share the forum is because we have worked together for nearly 30 years and while our verbiage styles vary, we have never disagreed on management strategies or advice to clients.

Whether or not you were wearing a condom, rubbing you penis on her genitals without penetration is masturbation.  Masturbation is totally safe sex.  You did not penetrate her in any way and your exposure to her secretions was minimal.  Thus this exposure is within the realm of masturbation which is zero risk.  No risk to you for acquisition of HIV or any other STD.  Please realize that in the course of masturbation miniscule amounts of genital secretions are inadvertently shared between partners, nonetheless there are no HIV transmissions which have occurred in this way.  You have nothing to worry about and do not need to be tested.  EWH

dear doctor ,

this site has been very valuable to me , and helping me alot to get rid of my fears.

dear doctor ,

u always say that during masturabation some fluids always get exchanged and there is no real risk ,

i want to understand , what in case someone finger *** with some fluids on finger say vaginal fluids , will u conside this also a case  of mutual masturbation , or chances are different in this case as direct vaginal fluids are coming in contact with rectum linning which is a mucuous membrane . i just asked this question to know the opinion of amedical expert , is this scenario different or still masturabtion
