i guess you've been tested, and the results were negative(-) am i right? the standard tests that are used for lyme disease (LD) are prone to show up as a false (-) that is, you may have LD and still have a (-) test. the most accurate test to date is..                 Western Blot IGG/IGM... try to get tested again.as for being cured; that is up for debate.I think it's safe to say that lyme antibodies stay in your system. I am not a doctor though. talk to your doc. if he won't listen to you, or you don't like what he has to say, you'll want to at least get a 2nd opinion. it is important that you get a correct diagnosis (dx) and treated, if need be.keep us posted...bruce

I don't think you ever really know for sure.  The doctor who treated me said if someone improves by taking antibiotics then it's lyme.  If no improvement, then it's not lyme.  I have had 2 major episodes of neurologic illness.  The first one 16 years ago after bullseye rashes.  I recovered after taking antibiotics.  It came back again in 2005.  Again, I have recovered considerably from treatment.  I'm not a doctor but from my personal experience,I do not think it is curable at this stage.  I do think it is treatable though. I think it stays in the body forever with episodes of remission/relapse.

Seems to depend on where you reside. If you live in the northeast, you probably can find many doctors familiar with its diagnosis and treatment. Good luck everywhere else.

You will also find doctors happy to diagnose you with it, if you're willing to pay through the nose that is.
