Coming off of Percocet

by TheKnitWit, Jul 19, 2008 09:00PM
Hey!

My daughter took her last Percocet almost 48 hours ago.  She was run over by a truck about 9 months ago, lost 7 inches of tibia, "grew" it back with an Ilizarov frame with 20 pins going into her bone...which was taken off about 4 weeks ago...YEA!  At that time she was on, 40-60 mgs a day of Percocet...and has been weaning since then.  Anyway, she was doing 5 mgs of Percocet every evening for a week...and then braced herself to stop.

I really wish she had talked to me because I would have told her to wait until her Summer School finals were over on Wednesday!

Her doc said she would have about 48 hours of bad flu symptoms and then she would be okay.  Is this accurate?  Does anyone else have experience in this?

Thanks!

Check out the health discussions at the right hand side of page - the Thomas Recipe - you will probably go a shade longer than 48 hours - maybe 72-96.....but the Thomas Recipe will show you how to do it with the least amount of discomfort. It is remotely possible that you daughter will be okay with the 48 hour time frame....but I always thought that an overestimate was better than an underestimate with this. Pick up the immodium and those supplies in case you need them. They wont spoil! Maintain hydration - fluids are important if she has loose stools frequently......and give her our best - and good luck to you....

Hi there welcome to the forum! Everyone is different but 48 hours seems kinda short to me. Of course there are a lot of different factors like amt used, how long etc...

If you will look at the top right of the screen there are health pages... click on those and read the Thomas Recipe and the Amino Acid protocol there are some very helpful things you can get her to help replace the things in her body the drugs robbed. I have read... again this is just something I have read that staying of red meat and sugary drinks and foods are good while detoxing as well...probably good in general...but I am a red meat, potato and sweet eater so... I don't know about that...just thought I would give you the tip!

Hope that helps an feel free to post any questions you guys may have!! This is a great place!
