Alergic reaction

by acstew32, Jul 18, 2008 02:52PM
I get these bumps on various places on the roof of my mouth.  If rubbed by my tounge they pop and release this string of pus/mucus.  I've noticed that it happens or they get bigger after I eat foods that make my throat itchy like im allergic to what ever I'm eating.  What could the be?

It sounds like its an allergic reaction due to the trigger being foods that you are normally allergic to.  I'm not quite sure why there is a string of pus/mucus though when you push with your tongue.  If you begin to notice these bumps and you aren't eating what typically triggers it, I would recommend seeing a dentist.  Allergic reactions can be very dangerous if you react extremely to it so I would stay away from those foods.

I guess a good example is a bee sting that some people carry epinephrine pens for to prevent airway closure from a severe reaction.

When are you due for your next checkup?  If it doesn't occur again, I would just mention it to your dentist then to evalute your palate to see if there's anything there.  If it occurs more frequently, I would see him immediately.
