my son turned 2 in march he was diagnosed with the spetrum in may 08 today he started an early program 1 day for speech and 1 day for social he is willeing to adapt and his tantrums usually last for only 3to 5 minutes.he has delayed echolalia and is almost nonverbal completely but in the last 8 wks at a slow pace the words little by little are starteing to come i keep readeing echolalia usually takes is't peak at about 30 months what does this mean?what can  i do t help with the 3to 5 min.breakdowns when entereing and exiteing because once we are ther he is fine he is not over sensitive all though he stil has some minor quirks and his cognitive skillls are still low.he is not as repetitive as he was at age 1 nor does he just hit anymore.
