Ovarian cyst pain?

by rlmelendez, Jul 14, 2008 06:19PM
Hi,
I am 24 years old on 7/10/2007 I was diagnosed with an ovarian cyst 3cm.  Now one year later I still have pain all around my sides and down the middle, as well as lower back pain. I am bloated, bloating has been going on for about 3 months now and sometimes I feel a vibrating sensation on my right and left side (around ovaries) It happens randomly and the pain comes and goes but I have it daily. My last pap was abnormal but the colposcopy was normal.  I recently had an ultrasound and the report states that everything was normal, scattered follicles less than 1cm and trace sonolucent fluid around the cul-de-sac. It stated that I do not have ovarian cysts anymore. I am currently on contraceptives. If the ultrasound report states no ovarian cyst then what can the pain be from? Why has it not gone away in over a year since I was diagnosed with an ovarian cyst.
Thanks,
Confused in Az

Hi There,
With a normal ultrasound, that suggests that your pain is from something else. Please make an appointment with your primary care doctor to review your symptoms. Pain is very complicated
it can be due to:
stress, depression
a childhood history of abuse
muscle strain
trauma
bowel problems
bladder infections
posture related problems
and so on
best wishes
