In referene to Tracy's "Pain in left shoulder blade, left arm"

by Brandon1986, Jul 08, 2008 08:40PM
I have been diagnosed with esophagitis and a hiatal hernia within the last year, after 4 years of pain. This pain Tracy is referring I have as well and have been trying to figure out myself. I have since then taken myself off of PPI drugs (after researching and finding out there are more problems that come with use) and have been eating as alkaline as possible. I have given up caffeine, chocolate and even smoking but even with all this behind me I still suffer from pains in my left arm, upper left chest, and under arm this sensation at some points can definitely make you wonder and worry which can start a not fun cycle of acid causing pain. All my work-ups come back normal (negative) as well, as far as for any cardio problems. -----Question directed to Tracy, did this occur after trying countless PPI drugs?-----
I tried 4 or so of them over a 4 years period and now I am off and controlling it myself with diet, exercise (if I start feeling pain or discomfort I chug water and call it a day) and controlling weight helps tremendously as well....Chia gel actually works as well as a quick relief (like and antacid) to the esophagus burning sensation. (2 cups water and 1/3 cup chia seeds in container and let stand for 12 hours...take a 1/3 cup when burning....good for two weeks after that dispose of and make more..usually gone by then for me) eat more melon fruits and stay away from Pizza bad tomatoes sauce will cause pains :(

In the end I am just trying to find an answer to the same question posed by Tracy "what is this shooting and sometimes dull pain in the left arm and chest that has me worried?" while at the same time post information that has helped me in controlling my esophagitus pain through this I am hoping the other pain will eventually dissipate.
