Feeling like pins sticking in my upper right stomache and radiating to my back

by Shelly43, Jul 08, 2008 04:02PM
I am a 43 year old female.I am not sure what is happening here. I had my gallbladder removed about 8 years ago. However, I now have the same sensation!  I have such aweful pain at times I can hardly take a deep breath or even walk because it hurts to move! Last week I had an episode of this that lasted about 7 hours. What now? What could it be? I HATE to go to the doctor.

Pain after gallbladder removal may arise from bile duct, especially from the sphincter of Oddi, which embraces its last part. Ultrasound may show small stones in the duct, MRCP can show any disorder there much more accurate though.
