Return of period post partum & catching up! Dec. babies

So, hooray, My dd turned 7 months last weekend and on that very day my period returned. My dd is still being breast fed, but we are supplementing with formula. With my first, my period did not return until she was completely weaned, which was around 8 months PP. I was hoping my period would not return until she was weaned this time,but alas, AF is here. I am sort of bummed.

I am in a lot of pain. Horrendous cramps every single day and this is my 5th day, and I cannot take it! the flow is not lightening up AT ALL, and all I want to do is crawl into bed and pull the covers over my head...but I have 2 very whiney cranky girls pulling on me. Tylenol is not helping. Can anyone relate?? I am not used to periods like this, because I am usually on the pill, which makes them lighter and the cramps are not severe. I cannot get on the pill until I wean my dd, and I am not ready to do that. Yet, I can't take this pain one week or more out of the month either until I go back on the pill. I guess what I will end up doing is sucking it up until I wean (I hope to continue nursing to 1 year, or until dd wants to stop.) Ugh, I guess that isn't a question just a complaint. Have many of you have a similar experience while still breast feeding?

On a side note, Jordana is excellent. She is now 7 months, sitting up on her own and crawling on her belly. She is babbling and squealing. She is trying to pull herself up, and some how manages to get half way up on her ankles. I dont know how she does it and it does not look comfortable at all, but she has turned into quite a happy little child. I really enjoy having her and continuing to watch her interact with her big sis. I miss everyone. I used to frequent this site so much during my time of ttc and pregnancy. So much has changed and I don't recognize many of the new members. But for my oldie but goodie friends, I miss you and I hope we can catch up really soon.

Miss you too! I miss everyone actually. We have going through a lot, but I think we will land on our feet (my family and I).

I am HATING this AF return. I want it to go away, but it seems to be getting heavier and not any lighter. I am wiped, my head aches and my feet are all swollen and I am bloated bigger than a whale! Plus it is 90 degree's here today. YUCK!

Aw, I know how you feel.  My af's are not fun even on the pill and before I was on it I was miserable.  I tried to use heating pads in the evening and it did help some, it's hard when you have 2 kids to chase after though.  I use Motrin, it works much better, but not sure if you can take it when you nurse.  I hope you feel better soon.  So excited to hear about your little girl doing so well.  What a fun age, Cam is past that, but it's so amazing every day to see the new stuff he learns.  Hope it cools down out there, I would love to send you our rain and hail, it's cooler anyway.  Take care!

I can SO relate to the AF thing...ugh! Hang in there.....hopefully it will end soon!
