triple bypass

My Dad had a triple bypass surgery in March 2008 he is a diabetic (takes insulin twice a day) he has been hospitalized twice since the surgery since he is accumulating liquid in his lungs. His legs get very swollen and once they start him on the medication they go down.  They are starting to get swollen again.  Is there any special treatment for this condition?  What should he doing beside limiting his liquid intake?

Your dad needs to be re-evaluated.  His heart function needs to be reassessed and the his medications need to be re-evaluated.  If he had veins taken out of a leg then the leg may be swollen due to venous insufficiency--but get him checked.  Fluid restriction is a reasonable thing until the re-evaluation.
