Avastin as maintenance?

by Terrin2, Jul 07, 2008 11:43AM
Since Avastin is not a chemo drug,  wondering if it can be used as maintenance on recurrence?   We use chemo drugs such as taxol for maintenance but that is toxic......
I did pose this question to Dr A on the forum,  the Dr felt it was a good question and since Avastin was so new,  did not really have the answer.   Does anyone here have any info?

Check out the forum below from earlier this year:

I'm not if it will answer your questions but it may give you some insight.

Even though I am on Avastin, I really cannot help you much here. I was on maintenance after my initial chemo, but like most, I was on taxol. When I go back to the Dr next Mon, I will try and remember to ask him if you have not found anything out by then.
