Blood in Urine

by Tysmom32, Jul 07, 2008 10:03AM
My baby boy is two months old and he had blood in his urine...no other symptoms of anything.  Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

I hope you took him to see his pediatrician!

I called "telehealth" (Ontario Health Care Service) and the nurse advised me to see the Dr.  and to go to emerg if he got worse in any way.  My appointment with the Dr. is not until tomorrow morning.  So, I'm waiting.  My baby is fine...except for the blood (1x only) in every way.  I just can't think of any reason there would be blood in his urine....I have two older children and this has never happened before.

I'm glad he will be seeing the doctor tomorrow.

Is he running a temp? It could be a UTI.....hard to tell. UTI's are more common in females, but that's not to say that males don't get them.

Was he circumcised? Sometimes circumcisions can cause UTI's.

He went to see the Dr. today.  He is healthy as a horse and she sent me to get his urine tested.  So, hopefully, the test will come back and everything will be fine.  She didn't seem to concerned...however, she could just be maintaining her professional cool until she sees some results.  She did not speculate at all.  I'm going to go with the hormonal thing....boys have hormones...until there is something that forces me to change my mind.  Thanks for your concern.  I'll let you know.

Here's hoping it will come back negative.

Thanks for the update.
