Help with medicine: doxycycline (antibiotic)

by dadezbombzzz, Jul 05, 2008 11:29PM
I am taking doxycycline (antibiotic) , would chest pains be a side effect ?
I have researched the drug, so far I have found:

*

severe headache, dizziness, blurred vision;
*

fever, chills, body aches, flu symptoms;
*

severe blistering, peeling, and red skin rash;
*

urinating less than usual or not at all;
*

pale or yellowed skin, dark colored urine, fever, confusion or weakness;
*

severe pain in your upper stomach spreading to your back, nausea and vomiting, fast heart rate;
*

loss of appetite, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes); or
*

easy bruising or bleeding, unusual weakness.

Those are listed side effects, could my chest pains (ONLY since taking this medicine) be a side effect of this drug? Never EVER had chest pains of any kind?

Any docs out there help me quick? haha.

I think where it says "pain in stomach spreading to back..." can be apart of this?

It hurts so bad :( I live in CT, and my doc diagnosed me w Lyme Disease...please help.

hi,

is it like a tight burning pressure especially when you eat, drink and blurp?

if yes, yep, it's the side effect.. i've taken the medication too and i got chest pains when i eat, drink and blurp.. the acids in ur stomach haf found it's way up your esophagus where the chest is and is irritating tat area.

when you take tat medication, you gotta drink lots and lots of water.. and don't take it before sleeping!! i did tat and i haf this painful problem.. there should be a brochure or something to put wat we should or should not do for crying out loud.. this drug is juz too powerful..

so how is your condition now and did you still continue taking doxycycline after hafing this prob?
