symptoms of skin conditon

I have been experiencing burning, itching, like hot pins/needles under my skin, specifically localized in both of my upper arms in the biceps, expecially the left arm. It keeps me up at night.  I have been on 2 weeks of med pak, and have a prescription for itching.   I bought Avenobar and bath granules.   The symptoms come and go.  I'm not sure if I have acquired an allergy, such as something I ate.  I am miserable.  Does anyone have these symptoms and what forms of treatment were successful?

This could be an allergic reaction but there is also the possibility that it could be an infectious disease, called scabies, caused by burrowing mites, commonly called bed bugs.  There are other non-burrowing mites called chiggers that feed on humans for a couple days and then fall off.  All of these mites are tiny and not visible to the human eye.  Lice can cause similar disease called pediculosis, but are visible.  There are treatments for all of these.

You should be examined by a dermatologist as these diseases will not go away spontaneously.

Good luck.
