Son's bleeding nose

by Felicia2904, Jun 20, 2008 07:27AM
My 7 year old son's nose has started bleeding at night. Is this something to worry about. He also rubs his nose a lot during the day.

Only at night? I wonder if he rubs it more then when hes alone. Could be a little infection or something got in it, maybe check with your Doc as its happened more than once,

Could be dry.  Does he have allergies?  My son is 9 and has chronic bloody nose.  We use a saline spray during the day.  We also make sure his bedroom has enough humidity and try to keep it consistent through out the year..not to high b/c of his allergies.  The dr also rx'd DDAVP nasal spray for his nose.  He's had it cauterized 3 times but the ENTwon't do it again.  He said his blood vessels are just to close to the skin, and with his allergies and rubbing his nose it's just going to happen.  His nose bleeds really easily. Every time he bumps it, rubs it, sneezes, coughs etc.  The DDAVP really helps him.  He doesn't get bloody noses very often if he uses it every single night before bed.

I'd def.  contact the dr just to check it out.
