reaccuring fever after stents

My boyfriend went in on Friday to get his heart catheter.  He had two stents put in and had to spend the night.  Well today is Wednesday and he is still in the hospital.  He keeps getting high fevers at least every day if not twice a day.  The highest one was 102.8.  No one can figure out what is causing them.  He has had his chest, groin and lungs checked and everything looked good.  They have also been taking blood everyday and we have not heard of them finding anything.  Yesterday they stopped all his meds including his pain pills to try to figure out if a combination of something was causing it.  The night nurse did however give him a blood pressure pill and a cholestorol pill.  I dont think those two would cause this.

I was wondering if there is any none cases of someone having an allergic reaction to the medication that is on the stents.  That is the only thing I can think of that would cause it.  It is the only thing that is different about him.

Please help, I am desperate and so scared of these fevers

I recommend you to consult the Cardiologist who did this procedure, at the distance it´s very difficult to write an opinion.

The Cardiologist is the one who cannot figure out what is wrong.  That is why I posted the question on this site.

My boyfriend is home now but was still getting fevers.  He stopped taking the Ticlid they put him on to thin his blood and the fevers stopped.  Now they have him back on Plavix.  We are hoping the fevers dont come back.  Since he has been home he has been feeling depressed, tired and sweats alot.  I am posting this just hoping that maybe you or someone else may have gone through or knows someone that had this same problem.  I was just hoping someone could think of something his cardiologist isint thinking of.

Thanks for your time, BrendaS
