Allergic To Bubble Gum?

Has anyone ever heard of being allergic to bubble gum, or I guess something found in bubblegum?

I have a 4 year old, about 2 months ago she attended a birthday party and came home with a mouth full of bubble gum (Bubble Tape) and a bag filled with candy. No big deal, she woke up the next morning with a big red splotch on her left cheek. At first I thought she had been in a bad position over night causing the red mark. Throughout the day the splotch got brighter red. I called my sister in law, to find out what all she had eaten during the party. Nothing that she had eaten at the party was new. So at this point I knew she had bubble gum (Which she had never had prior) and a bag of candy, which I didn't know for sure what had already been eaten from the bag. I also thought it was possible that it was a small bug bite on  her cheek since the party took place outside.

Fast forward to yesterday.... while at the gas station I bought my daughter a pack of "Hubba Bubba" gum. Now today the red splotch is back.  Hmmmm... coincidence?

Here PCP is closed today which is why I ask for advice here.

How would the allergy be determined? Is this even a big deal? Does she even need to see the pcp or should I just stop giving her gum. I am assuming that there is something in the gum that could be causing the reaction. If so then it's best to find out what it is. Right?

Sorry this dragged on, I am lost when it comes to allergies!

Is she allergic to anything at all or is this the first reaction.  I went online to find the ingredients just to be certain there was no latex inside .. but as of today I believe it is really not in gum anymore .. way back it was in Chiclets as the "gum" !

I'm allergic to bubble gum.  Not chewing gum, just bubble-gum-flavored bubble gum.  My worst reaction is to the ones sold by the piece, like big pink nuggets.

I had not had any bubble gum in fourteen years and had some this afternoon, stupidly.  Yup.  I am allergic to bubble gum.

It is an anaphylactic allergy.  My mouth and face are still swollen, though I took some Benadryl as soon as my gums started itching and throbbing.  

I'm sure you haven't given her any more, but for gods' sakes, don't give her gum again!  :)  Hope she's okay.

I am allergic to Extra gum.  I don't get hives or blotches but my throat closes up and I gasp for breath.  I've never bothered to look at the ingredients to see what is in it though.  When the gum first came out as trial packs I was able to eat it but when it came out mainstream I've never had a good reaction to it.
