Your doctor should know whether or not the treatment will affect the absorption of your regular medicines. At 71, many might tell you to "watch and wait." I think before proceeding with any treatment, in light of your other medical conditions, you owe it to yourself to ask your urologist a few more "hard" questions about the treatment he/she is prescribing and other possible treatments such as the ones I have suggested.
