lack of sensation in glans

by willc06, Oct 29, 2006 12:00AM
I'm a circumsised male, age 37, who can remember once having a normally sensitive penis, especially the glans, when I was in my teens. However, I experienced ED at an early age 17 which then proceeded to have a decreasing sensation in the glans start in my early 20's. I've seen a few doctors and specialists who either say it's in my head or else don't have an answer for me. It has continued to desensitize over the years and most every other area of my skin (hands, feet, legs, arms, etc) are much more sensitive to touch, especially light touch. For example, if I used cotton batton on my legs it would tickle but barely register feeling on my glans. I continue to have ED and though I want to have sex, my body just keeps letting me down. I've been tested by a urologist who says I have good enough blood flow and no leaks, but I've had an endocrinolgist say that my testes are on the small side and though testosterone is in normal range it is low normal. I masturbated for a few weeks once when I was in my late teens with a vibrator and I've heard this could cause nerve damage. I can continue to masturbate to orgasm but need to have almost continual significant stimulation to stay erect. If I stop I start going soft almost immediately. Can anyone help me?

You are not alone.  My husband has the same issue exactly.  He can ejaculate while masturbating and with constant stimulation.  He has tried many things to correct it but we are still looking for a solution. I'm going to suggest he try hypnosis to see if it might help.  Or Viagra.  Hang in there.

Unfortunately, this is one of the wonderful things about circumcision. And I am being facetious.

If your testosterone level is low or 'low normal' then most likely your DHT is low or mid range and in turn E2 will be low/low normal. While men shouldn't have high E2, having mid range (20/30 on the normal scale) is required alongside DHT for penis sensation and nerve function. DHT is responsible for penile sensation and penis blood flow/vascular function.

Get a full hormone work out done (blood profile) and get the following checked:

Total T

Free T

SHBG

LH/FSH

DHT

Estridol

Prolactin

Post your results up and i will help you regain function

Please can someone help me?!?!?!? I'm having much of the same symptons. My symptons with the cotton ball on the skins is the reverse. The sensation in my nipples, hands, skin, thighs, feet, and other places have desensitized. My ears doesn't transmit sexual arousal anymore. I'm scared and I feel as though my life is over because I don't feel that same. I'm asking for the love of God someone help me with this because I don't want to live out the rest of my life feeling this way. It's very depressing to me and I have no support on this. My wife doesn't care and not as concerned about it as I am, so therefore I MUST correct this on my own. Yes, I have been to two Urologist and like most, none offer any answers or concern. There has to be a someone (Male professional) with a heart to help! Thank you in advance. ***@****
